It just so happens

Another bit of research that I just so happened to come across. I was doing another bit of research for a part I am playing in A Midsummer Nights Dream at The Peoples Theatre in Newcastle. I am playing Oberon King of the Fairies but thats another story however. I bought a dvd of the 1996 production by the Royal Shakespeare Company and I noticed the menu of it was set up like a stage with characters coming on and off on strings and pulleys, this is exactly how I want my scenary to operate on my portfolio so I thought I would share it with you. As for me being a fairy well its not good for the street cred but its certainly an experience which hopefully my portfolio will turn out to be.

Lighting it Up

I have been doing this tutorial on lighting effects in
flash because I want my lights on my stage to look realistic with shadows and give a realistic look to whole site adding atmosphere. Obviously I want to use lighting effects for spotllights and scene changes also. This was a really useful tutorial and I have enjoyed doing it immensly take a look for yourself...

More Peeping

Its amazing what you find when you have a peep. I forgot I already owned a small peep show already in an old childrens book so been having a look at that. Brings back so many memories The Jolly Christmas Postman by Janet and Allan Ahlberg illustrations are fantastic but the concept is even better.

Peep Show

No not the seedy kind or the TV comedy sketch show the original Peep Shows with cardboard cutouts that you look through. This is the sort of style I want to use for the sets on the stage. Found this book by Eugene F. Provenzo showing you how to make one out of a shoebox.

I also found this website which tells you about the History of the Peep Show interesting read and also some nice examples to look at.

Yet more Templates

Another Flash template have found. I prefer the way this one looks to the last so I thought I would upload it to show you this style as I prefer it to the last one with the red curtains and the 3d floor giving you perspective the lone mike is a nice touch too just adds a bit of sophistication to it. Almost like the website is speaking to you.
